Authentication Node Configuration

Signify's Authentication Services can be integrated into your systems at any point where you need to challenge the user to validate their identity.

The devices or programs on your network that are configured to perform this challenge are referred to as your Authentication Nodes or “authnodes”.  Our aim is to make it as simple as possible to "Signify Enable" your chosen authnode systems to communicate with the Signify service.

There are a huge range of systems and applications that can be Signify enabled, including:

  • SSL VPN devices – e.g. Aventail, Netilla
  • Firewall and IPSEC VPN systems - almost all all popular systems are supported
  • Citrix - thin client access via Citrix Secure Gateway or ICA client
  • Outlook Web Access - including Windows Mobile with ActiveSync
  • Web Servers - e.g. Microsoft IIS, Apache and many others
  • Dial-in access servers – e.g. Cisco, Microsoft RAS and many others
  • Remote desktop solutions – e.g. Windows Terminal Services, PCanywhere
  • From within any application - using Java, PHP or other languages that support RADIUS

In fact any system or software that support the open standard RADIUS authentication protocol or RSA's native SecurID protocol can be configured as an authentication node on the Signify Service.

It's quick and simple to configure your authnode

Whichever system you choose to Signify enable it's a quick step-by-step process. Most access control devices such as firewalls, routers and RAS servers are pre-configured to communicate with a remote authentication system and they simply require the entry of a few configuration parameters into their management interface. In other cases such as web servers and some operating systems, the process requires the installation of a small module of software.
