At next month's Infosecurity Europe, Signify will be announcing the addition of Signify ICE, the In Case of Emergency Service to its range of secure, reliable and flexible hosted two-factor authentication (2FA) services.
Available exclusively through its network of channel partners, Signify delivers 24/7 2FA hosted services for secure remote access. Signify users are identified and verified using token, tokenless or a combination of both authentication services, which can be tailored to the needs of any size of organisation.
"Emergency situations can a create a whole host of new issues for organisations, so the last thing you want to do is add to these by exposing your data and information to unauthorised user access. 2FA protects against this and secures remote access and shouldn't be neglected, even in emergencies," says Dave Abraham, CEO at Signify. "Signify ICE, allows you to maintain your existing security stance in emergency situations by ensuring 2FA is always available, whatever and whenever it is needed."
Signify is the only cloud-based service that offers both RSA SecurID tokens along with software tokens and tokenless authentication using email and mobile devices. For example, regular users can be given a token that produces a new one-time passcode (OTP) every 60 seconds while occasional users or those who require temporary access - including during emergency situations - can use the Passcode OnDemand service that delivers OTPs via SMS direct to their mobile phone or PDA.
Signify will also be showcasing their recently announced Signify SaaS Login feature, which is now included in all their services and closes the Software as a Service (SaaS) security gap. Signify SaaS Login enables users to identify and authenticate themselves just once for access to all their network or cloud-based applications, such as Google Apps and Salesforce.com, using a single set of two-factor authentication credentials.
This increases the level of protection for corporate applications and data in the cloud by providing fast and convenient token or tokenless authentication. Currently many organisations are failing to apply the same security logic to applications in the cloud that they would to other applications and networks they access remotely and are still relying on insecure passwords.
