World Vision UK, the Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation, has chosen Signify's fully hosted, flexible and reliable two-factor authentication (2FA) service to secure its mobile staff and field workers with safe and easy access to corporate networks.
In addition to logistical and operational information, World Vision staff have access to emails, documents and confidential information on the charity's supporters and donators.
As a charity dedicated to working with communities to overcome poverty and injustice, a significant amount of World Vision employees work in the field to reach out to the public for their support. Having remote access to their core CRM solution, Echo, makes it easy to update and
access information without returning to the main office. The 2FA
solution also has to be PCI DSS compliant to ensure donators' card payment information is fully secure.
Signify has provided nearly 200 members of World Vision staff with a small RSA SecurID token - usually carried on a key ring - that produces a new unique one-time passcode (OTP) every 60 seconds. By using this, along with their known user name and secret PIN, World Vision staff can safely gain immediate access to all of the information they need from anywhere in the world.
"RSA SecurID is a well recognised and trusted brand and we were really impressed with Signify's credentials," said Adrian Blair, IT Project Manager, World Vision. "Getting them to manage and deploy the entire solution was a great fit for us because we simply didn't have the resources to do it ourselves. Signify got us up and running very quickly and, as we launched the service just before Christmas, it delivered immediate benefits during the snow disruption when staff could not get in the office."
Signify has been an RSA SecurWorld(r) partner for nearly ten years and recently received certification as a managed security service provider
(MSSP) in RSA's new specialty program. This was a reflection of its consistently high-quality of service and dedication to providing the world's market-leading strong authentication solution to its customers as a cloud service.
"We are delighted that World Vision has chosen to use our two-factor authentication service," said Dave Abraham, CEO at Signify. "It is ideal for charitable organisations because not only does it secure their remote access, it eliminates the need to buy new equipment or integrate with existing systems in-house and ensures a low cost of deployment and total cost of ownership. And importantly, it is easy to manage, requiring no additional investment in specialist in-house skills."
