Signify’s Crilly finishes third in Easytrack Production BMW Cup

13 October 2008

Liam Crilly, CTO of Cambridge-based Signify, has finished in an impressive third place in this year’s Easytrack Production BMW Cup. He came second in the final race last weekend at Spa Francorchamps, completing the fastest lap, and in total secured seven podium finishes and two wins at Brands Hatch and Snetterton.

Crilly has a good track record in the Easytrack Production BMW Cup and was champion in its inaugural year in 2004 and again in 2006. The Production BMW Cup race series was specifically designed to provide one-make, exciting and affordable racing for any driver from beginner to advanced. Crilly’s Signify sponsored car is a customised BMW E30, 3-Series saloon.

“The event has grown year on year and the 2008 Series was more competitive than ever,” says Liam Crilly. “Every race was tough and with no pit crew or engineers, I have to do all the work on the car myself. It was hugely satisfying and I and I am delighted to have finished in third position overall.”

When not racing, Crilly is CTO of Signify, the Cambridge-based provider of secure two-factor authentication services. Signify’s hosted services replace insecure passwords and are used by anyone who needs access to sensitive information and resources including home workers, day extenders, mobile staff, business partners, consultants, temporary workers and IT support staff.

For those who fancy themselves as the next Lewis Hamilton, but also enjoy the comfort of a day job, the Production BMW motor racing events bring together BMW E30 1983-1990 series owners from all over the UK to participate in motorsport. http://www.pbmwc.co.uk
