RSA Security Inc. to be acquired by EMC Corporation

$2.1 Billion deal establishes Identity and Authentication Security at the centre of the Enterprise Information Management marketplace
EMC Corporation, the leader in information management and storage, and RSA Security Inc., the leader in protecting and managing identities and digital assets, today announced a definitive agreement for EMC to acquire RSA. Signify regard the intended acquisition of RSA Security by EMC Corp as being very positive and exciting. EMC was one of a number of major industry players that was bidding for RSA Security, and the high premium placed on RSA's value shows how strategic is their position in the key growth market of Identity, Authentication and Data Security. This helps confirm the value of Signify's unique position as 'The Secure Authentication Service' in this marketplace.
We anticipate that, given access to the extensive resources of EMC Corp, RSA will have more substantial funds for marketing and R&D to grow the global market place for Identity and Authentication Security products and services. Signify, our customers and business partners can only benefit from this growth and maturation of our marketplace.
Signify look forward to being able to develop our strong relationship with RSA Security into an equally positive partnership with EMC Corp. Art Coviello, RSA's CEO, and his team remain in charge of the RSA business operations and we do not expect any disruption in our business relationship in the foreseeable future.
