Signify Sales Engineer, Matt Ford, is attempting to become a Guinness World Record™ breaker. Starting on the 17 September 2009, Matt and his friend Chris Marchant will attempt to break the record for the longest pool match ever played.
This 'pool marathon' isn't all about breaking records though; Matt and Chris are aiming to raise large amounts of money for charity. They are aiming to raise funds for The Paul Hunter Foundation and Addenbrookes Charitable Trust.
"We have chosen two charities to support via our event," said Matt. "The Paul Hunter Foundation, which was set up to give disadvantaged children places to play sport and socialise and The Addenbrookes Charitible Trust, with all funds raised going towards the research and treatment of testicular and prostate cancer."
The event is being hosted in the Grafton Shopping Centre, Cambridge, UK. Signify are delighted to be supporting Matt in his world record attempt and hope to help him raise lots of money for some very worthwhile charities.
